Most of those trees date back to the Viking era, so in a way, it’s part of Calverton history, imagine destroying that, it would be like destroying a family heirloom.

GAG5 is a group of people in the 5 villages of Papplewick, Bestwood, Newstead, Linby and Ravenshead……
People in these areas are not happy with the Gedling Borough Council Plan either as what it describes affects them too. They are planning action by taking legal advice about the way the plan has been administered by the council. This may go as far as the high court. Local people in these areas have pledged £2000 to start this action. Calverton Parish Council may be involved in the future.
Campaigns cost money
